District 30 democrats hosted the Region 6 districts for the 2026 Sweetheart Gala at the Apple Creek Country Club on Saturday, February 7, following the district conventions from earlier in the day.

The gala sold nearly all of the 120 or so seating capacity for a buffet dinner, silent auction fundraiser, “front-back” paddle contest with a $500 prize that was donated back to the organization by the winner, and a ‘Dance with Bob Valeu” money dance.

Notable prizes in the silent auction were a painting entitled “Refugees” and a quilt blanket that was completed with the transferred embroidery signatures of many nationally and statewide famous persons who were asked to remit their signature for the quilt. Together, those two items raised over $2,000.

After accounting for food, facility rental, and other expenses, the event netted approximately $8,000 that will be added to the coordinated campaign for the Region 6 Dem-NPL candidates.
